Depth of Coagulation
GreenLight's depth of tissue coagulation, irrespective of the power level utilized, does not exceed 1-2 mm because most of the thermal energy is both consumed and carried away by the highly efficient vaporization effect.5 This means minimal disruption to non-vaporized tissue preventing tissue sloughing, which could result in retention.
All surgical treatments have inherent and associated risks. The most common risks associated with Photoselective Vaporization of the Prostate (PVP) are hematuria, short term dysuria and UTI.
